Preparing your own toasted bread:

  1. In a cup, mix the yeast with the sugar and 5 tablespoons of water and let rise for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix all the ingredients with the sourdough starter and then knead for 3 minutes.
  3. Grease a toast bread tin with oil and add the dough. Smooth the surface and brush with oil. Cover with cling film for 45 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 210°C (upper/lower heat).
  5. Remove the foil and bake in the lower third of the oven for 10 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 190°C and bake for a further 35 minutes.
  6. Remove the mould from the oven and allow the bread to cool completely on a wire rack in the mould.
